Amazing ... This is the level of respect for our Pakistani police force in Bahrain.

You see, Wonderland, my country, the one I miss to bits, the one I prefer to all the other bogs around the world, the one I am dying to return to, the one my eyes swell with tears everytime it is mentioned to me, is never dull or boring. There always some action.

The people of Wonderland have an amazing sense of humour and love to tease and tickle those in authority from time to time.

This is a story which appeared in MY Gulf Daily News and which made me laugh so hard, I think I woke up all the people living in this five-star condo, which has become my new refuge for the time-being:

"Policeman beaten and left naked

An off-duty policeman was left badly beaten and naked on Barbar beach after muggers assaulted and robbed him before escaping with his clothes, sources told the GDN.

The 42-year-old Pakistani man was said to be "terrified" when he was found by Budaiya Police officers and subsequently taken by ambulance to Salmaniya Medical Complex.

The victim was reportedly walking along the King Faisal Corniche at around 10pm when he was assaulted and kidnapped by three Bahrainis, who took him to Barbar beach.

The attackers allegedly beat the man severely, causing him to bleed, and stole his wallet containing BD40, his mobile phone, keys, CPR and police ID card, before pulling off his clothes and leaving him naked on the beach.

A case has been filed at Naim Police Station."

It is really sad that there is no respect for authority, the authority of a Pakistani policeman, who symbolises the police force in Bahrain.

Why is this?

What makes savage village thugs attack a peaceful Pakistani policeman, who is only wearing that uniform because he was employed there by a Bahraini official, who thought that a Pakistani, Yemeni, Syrian or Jordanian, is more keen to protect and uphold our safety and security, than those demonstration-loving tree-hugging Bahrainis?

And so what if Bahrainis are feeling like second-class citizens in their country? They aren't the first to feel that way and shouldn't really be bitter about it.

And why did they leave him naked? And why did they steal his clothes and police ID card?

Silly Girl thinks it isn't some disenchanted village boys' doing. There is something more sinister in the works.. probably some Yemeni policeman holdinga grudge against the Pakistani, because the Pakistani was in Bahrain way before the Yemeni and speaks Arabic with a better Bahraini accent?

Ma adri walla ...
