I have made it a habit to read tomorrow's Bahraini newspapers before going to sleep - thanks to the huge time difference between here and Wonderland.
I don't know whether it is a healthy habit or not but this isn't the issue...as I am confused everyday as what day it is anyway. Although I have been here for the third month now, I still have my watches and clocks set to Wonderland's time. I know, I know, I know. But this is a rather complex case, which needs the interference of a shrink asap.
Back to newspapers. I just read a snippet on Page One of the GDN, which I will post here for laughs.
Doctors’ plea against official
MANAMA: A group of doctors has appealed to parliament to put an end to alleged violations by Salmaniya Medical Complex’s emergency department chief Dr Nabeel Ansari. In a letter to parliament chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani, they have detailed their grievances and enclosed documents showing the alleged financial, administrative and technical irregularities.
A similar letter was sent to Shura chairman Dr Faisal Al Mousawi.
Meanwhile, Dr Al Ansari told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej that a file detailing some doctors’ medical blunders would soon be submitted to parliament, Shura and the government.
He also claimed that several doctors secretly invited their Arab girlfriends to their wards while on night duty.
hehe
The issue of the SMC emergency doctors has been raging for at least a year now..I don't know the full story, as I never paid enough interest to hospital politics. But Dr Al Ansari's comment did leave me in stitches. Excuse me? What Arab girlfriends? And at the hospital?
Parallel's life at Grey's Anatomy, a sit-com I have been hooked to watching here. Didn't know it is being paralleled by our doctors in Bahrain. hehe
