Funny that Muscati has asked in reply to a post below how members of the royal family are bestowed with the title shaikh and shaikha from a young age:

tough! some people are born with titles and others aren't.. not a difficult fact in life to grasp I am afraid!

The reason I am bringing it up here is because I have had to endure some stomach turning experiences over the previous few days, which I didn't know how to air.. but now that Muscati is giving me some inspiration, here I go and help me God!

Some 18 year old (actually he is much older but sounded like a school drop out) third rate twit called the other day with some queries. He insisted on speaking in his broken English and demanded answers for a few questions there and then. I told him I was busy and to call later, when I had time to spare or leave his contact number for me to call back if and when I had the time and inclination to deal with a retard. I had to consult the 101 dealing with Dummies manual to brace myself.

To add insult to injury, he hissed: "Do you know who I am? I am a member of the ROYAL family!" Ouch! That really made me shit in my pants.. So I really had to end the conversation, because I had to rush to the toilet to puke!

The thing is.. people with class and title, don't force it upon other people to respect them or be nice to them. Respect is to be earned..not demanded.. whether you are from a royal or a peasant background!

Absolutely right.

One reason why I do not support monarchies. Being born into a position doesnt make one intelligent, doesnt mean you deserve respect. It is an accident of birth. People should rule and have respect based on actions and merit, nothing else.

None of us r born into a family of our choice, n I agree, respect is earned, n not given ! A funny incident happened when a non-local was stopped for some driving behaivor, n he demanded to be released just coz he works for an XYZ company !!

The area I live in has a lot of people who feel a special sense of entitlement, for whatever reason. I live in the Metro Washington DC area and you see it all of the time. People expect special treatment for many reasons....they drive a Mercedes, make $200,000 a year, know this person or that. It is one of the few things, besides the weather, that I do not like about this area.
