This morning I was woken up at 7am. That's dawn for me if you know what I am talking about.
The phone kept ringing and ringing and ringing till about 11am. There were worried people..worried relatives...worried friends...worried ... What have I got to do with it? Call the police, Silly Me told them. Call the Education Minister. Call the Interior Minister. Why bother me?
To cut the story short- Bahrain Bayan's School principal got an e-mail which said that two bombs would go off later in the morning. They emptied the school, sent the teachers and students home (that would have been my day had I still been in school!!) and called in our ever ready police force, bomb squad, sniffer dogs... the works.
It looked like a scene from Beirut.
I know I have to be more mature in relating this story...and I should. Doha is too close...and the memory of the terrifying bomb all too real.
What happened there is no joke. Someone has actually lost his life and others will live with the terror they witnessed that day forever. It tells us all that terrorism, though ugly, is inevitable at this day and age - thanks to the policies followed by our long-sighted governments (Silly Me has to blame someone for everything!!).
The silly prankster who sent the e-mail and shivers down the spines of parents and teachers and all the responsible citizens of Bahrain should be punished and named and shamed...unless of course he is from the level of people which are a cut above the rest.
If that is the case, then I would like to take this opportunity to apologise profusely for not enjoying his joke and for suggesting something as ludicrous as punishing him/her.
Silly me! What's wrong with playing in a playground - even one the size of Bahrain?

Yes.. a school!

Terrorism has no face, language or boundry...no ethics..no rules of engagement.

seems that because the school was following the American Educational System - it had become a target -

I have no clue as to who came up with the great idea that just becuase a school followed an American Syllabus it was justifiable to bomb it - that is if the school was ever a target.

That's what i call - LAME!

unless it was a group of students or a lone student who cooked up the whole thing as a joke :-)
