What a befitting end to the day!
Did anyone read today's newspapers. A citizen of wonderland kidnapped his 11-year-old daughter and married her off against her will (duh!) to her aunt's (the father's sister) husband!
This is Haram, Haram, Haram .. in Muslim Wonderland.. such things should not happen.
And what follows is even more ridiculous! The pubic prosecutor (not a typo) arrests the father and one of the witnesses.
1. Why wasn't the horny mulla who authorised the illegal marriage not arrested?
2. Why wasn't the prostitute of an aunt who is pimping on her 11-year-old niece not arrested?
3. Why weren't the two witnesses arrested.. why only one?
Come on.. you are either Muslims or fucking hypocrates. Time to draw the line..fellow wonderlandis!

These are strange customs that I, as a westerner, find difficult to comprehend. And the men (here we go again!) usually get off scott free while the women are forced to suffer through all this.
If it wasn't so sad, I would say this is ridiculous. But it is much worse than that. Reprehensible?
The father and uncle ought to be castrated, and the aunt along with the two guys should be sent to prison -- at least 25 years with no parole.
Question: Did they even use a Mullah for the marriage? Some can get away with the 'vows' and the witnesses - all theologically justified too.
The prophet married a 9 year old, and had 9 wifes. When someone questions that... they're out of line and need some whipping...

an 11-year-old is a child..and deserves to live until she is old enough to get make a choice. CHOICE. something too difficult for a lot of people to comprehend. What? u are calling for us to go back to the Jahilya days?

this is a serious offence. the rights of an 11-year-old have been revoked. this girl will live with the horror and scars for the rest of her life and those criminals should be punished unless there are losers who would turn around and say it's ok.. the prophet did this and my great grandfather did that.

besides, joker, this girl's marriage is ILLEGAL. you don't marry ur uncle. unless, u have a different social set of values u are more than welcome to enlighten us all about.

i never knew that child marriages take place in bahrein, i just thought Asia and some parts of Africa are famous for that.
So where's the lil girl now? Social Services took her in?

If u wish to question the Prophet peace be upon him carry on but in all understanding he the Prophet didnt pick his wifes except one.he was told by Allah to marry them & if u see the reasons why he married them u will know its not for lust as soo many people think.

Just more in a long line of nonsense that people do and try to use Islam to justify it. Of course, if the religious leader was arrested it might have offended somebody. I find the marriage of a young girl in these circumstances FAR more offensive.

You mention punishing the aunt - but would she have had any choice in the matter? How fking awful to be forced to accept your husband taking an underage girl as a second wife. I know that divorce rights are much harder for women to obtain in some Islamic countries (and non-Islamic ones too, for that matter) compared to men - there's no triple talaq for the wife to recite.
So I imagine this poor woman, forced to remain married to a disgusting pervert who rapes his own niece"wife" on a nightly basis, desperately ashamed of her husband and powerless to do anything. As for the ordeal of the 11-year-old child - words fail. I really hope she will get the support she needs.

I don't know about this marriage with 9 year old, but, I can say that Salvation is achieved only when there is celibacy. All the Major religions in the world teach the same...
