Today's newspapers made me laugh!
I mean all newspapers make me laugh everyday, but one particular news item made me fall off my chair...hahaha
It was a story about two POLICEMEN held in custody on bribery charges.. hahaha
One sec.. need to rush to the ladies room to pee.. I can't hold it any longer..
Do you know that if they(you know who I am referring to) really take a closer look at themselves, there will be more policemen behind bars than criminals??
On the one hand, it is great that such news is being sent out by the Interior Ministry to the newspapers to publish on their front pages. The scary bit though is that there is so much corruption that goes unreported everyday because unscrupulous policemen stop it from reaching the public.
The horror stories that cross my desk everyday are testimony to a corrupt system. The fact they go unreported because so and so policeman or influential person is involved speaks volumes about the level of transparency and the direction our newly found democracy is taking..
way to go Wonderland!

the same here in Yemen from the top to the bottom.
hahaha
are u trying to tell me that we are all in the same boat!
let's then ROW, ROW, ROW!
I don't disagree with any of you and you know it!
moodz...yes... corruption is rife in the law enforcement agencies as portrayed in all the TV programmes we've watched over the years..
But this is corruption happening elsewhere.
When did you see the Bahraini Ministry of interior send out a press release to all the newspapers telling them that they have arrested two policemen on corruption charges before?
Now this is a step which should be applauded because those people should take a closer look about how they operation and try - genuinely- to improve their image in the public eye!
You are Bahraini and you know what I am talking about.
Mohammed... no. I am afraid I havent been to Syria before ;)
I know... I know.. I should travel more around the Arab world.. Hopefully I will be able to do so soon ;)
ES.. those in glass houses! haha
We're in the same boat here my friend. It is ridiculous that the public is kept in the dark about corruption..
I don't want to cite examples here about what is happening in wonderland because I have a lot happening in my life right now, I don't want to get side-tracked.
But what happened to all the talk about democracy, freedom, reform, free speech, transparency... and ma adri shino?
lip service... lip service... lip service
Hey, cut the guys some slack, they have to pay for all of those Shawarmas they eat somehow right?
