I know it's been a long time.. I thought my self-exile to Canada would give me more time to write and blog and read and write and paint do all the things I have always wanted to do.
The truth is that it hasn't. I can't blame it on the place, weather and total lack of inspiration because this too isn't true. You see, the truth isn't something tangible. It can't be as it is a matter of perception.
I don't want to be hard on myself, but perhaps the truth is that I have become lazy. While - in the not too distant past - I could have juggled up to 50 chores - and I swear I am not exaggerating - and packed them all into a day and got them done, I don't think I am capable of completing three today.
This too isn't the complete truth .. because I still wake up early everyday and I seem to be busy the whole day and night but don't ask me what I do during all this time since I really don't have anything tangible to show for it.
I suppose I have mastered the act almost all civil servants are experts at .. seeming busy without having to show anything for their wages.
I don't know what it is. I can't put my finger on it.. but it doesn't matter. This wasn't the reason I logged on today. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Eid.

Hi SBG. Good to hear from you once again. I know I don't post much but I'm keeping an eye out on your blog!

You know, I think you just described how I feel just about everyday. We all need a kick up our rears every once in a while don't we?

EID MUBARAK.

Thanks all for your comments. Am surprised anyone checks the silly site anymore..

Yes Ali, we do need a kick in our rear end..once in a while.. if only life gives us a break and stops head-butting us everyday!

I do "check" your blog more often than you do, SBG. And that is the truth :-)

Eid Mubarak to you and your husband. May every joy come to you this season.

I find that I do a lot of what you're saying and I have time on my hands. I'd love to pick up the brush and paint more but I chalk it up to not having the inspiration.... even tho, late lastnight or really early this morn., I did have an idea about a piece... only wish I could have gotten up and painted it!

SS.. I am afraid you are right! I don't want to make empty promises.. but I owe it to myself to update the blog more often than I do ...for several reasons:

1. to spite the authorities
2. to please you
3. to spite the authorities
4.to keep myself occupied in a useful occupation
5. to spite the authorities
6. to spite the authorities
7. to spite the authorities

Tooners.. lol.. join the club.. i used to have all those voices in my head repeating words if assembled on a page would make a great read .. and then I bought a digital recorder..which I carry with me everywhere .. in case the voices come.. and it's gone silent.

As to painting.. well.. again.. I see things .. and I put them aside for sometime.. and then I go to the white canvas.. and something else comes out. Those around me are full of praise and are marvelled with the outcome.. but only I know that what they see wasn't supposed to be!

Good luck with ur paintings. When I am next in Bahrain .. I would love a sneak preview!
