You grow up all your life being taught right from wrong.
God is watching you, they have warned us.
If you do wrong, God will punish you.
You will have to repent and ask for forgiveness.
On the Day of Judgement, you will be cross-examined.
You will be asked what you did and you will have to replay all the dusty tapes and admit to all your sins.

Forgive me God, for I have blogged! Read more»»
Papa don't preach...
Papa I know you're going to be upset,
Cuz I was always your little girl,
But you should know by now I'm not a baby,
You always taught me right from wrong,
I need your help daddy please be strong,
I may be young at heart,
But I know what I'm saying

The one you warned me all about,
The one you said I could do without,
We're in an awful mess,
And I don't mean maybe
PleasePapa don't preach,
I'm in trouble deep,
Papa don't preach,
I've been losing sleep,
But I've made up my mind,
I'm keeping my baby

Ooh, ooh I'm gonna keep my baby

He says that he's going to marry me,
And we can raise a little family,
Maybe we'll be alright,
It's a sacrifice

But my friends keep telling me to give it up,
Sayin I'm too young,
I ought to live it up,
What I need right now is some good advice,
PleasePapa don't preach,
I'm in trouble deep,
Papa don't preach,
I've been losing sleep,
But I've made up my mind,
I'm keepin my baby,
Ooh, ooh I'm gonna keep my baby
Daddy, daddy if you could only see,
Just how good he's been treating me,
You'll give us your blessing right now,
'Cause we are in love,We are in love,
So pleasePapa don't preach,
I'm in trouble deep,
Papa don't preach,
I've been losing sleep,
But I've made up my mind,
I'm keeping my baby,
I'm gonna keep my baby

ooh!Don't stop loving me daddy,
I know I'm keeping my baby,
Don't stop loving me daddy,
I know I'm keeping my baby.

From today's Gulf Daily News:

"Webmasters must register or face legal action

MANAMA: Webmasters face prosecution if they defy new rules announced by Bahraini authorities. All Bahraini websites set up here or abroad must register with the Information Ministry or face legal action, it was declared yesterday.
A six-month campaign is being launched next Monday to register all Bahraini websites, under orders from Information Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar.
"The ministry will announce soon the details of how each website owner or supervisor can register," Information Under-Secretary Mahmood Al Mahmood told the GDN.
"If they fail to register then legal action will be taken against them based on the country's printing and publishing laws."
He said websites would face similar laws to newspapers, related to libel, public decency and ethics.
Just as a newspaper editor-in-chief is held responsible for what he publishes, so will the webmasters be, he said.
Ministry printing and publishing director Jamal Dawood said registration procedures would be in line with those for all types of publications, including newspapers, leaflets, audio and visual media."

This is from the Bahrain Tribune:

"National campaign to register Web sites from May 2

With a multi-pronged strategy to ensure better investment environment, enhance social development and protect human rights and Press freedom, all Web sites launched in and outside the Kingdom and related to Bahrain will be registered, writes Naila Barakat. All Web sites dealing with arts, sports, religion and political issues related to Bahrain will have copyrights, the Director of Publication and Press, Jamal Dawood, said. The national campaign begins on May 2 and will continue for six months. The initiative follows directives from the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohammed Abdulghaffar. “The campaign is part of our efforts to create a better environment for investors and businesses, and bolster social development. It also aims to promote and protect human rights and the freedom of the Press.” “The registration process will be similar to that for books and publications, because the Internet is part of the media. The registration of the Web site is part of Law No. 47 issued in 2002,” he said."

Guess what guys...

Our days are numbered. I mean not just me. But me, you, Chanad, Mahmood, Moodz, Sume (maybe) and definitely Bahrania.

In the new era of freedom and democracy, ushered in by a new constitution and reforms never known to the world before and will never be seen ever again anywhere else for as long as we and our children and our grandchildren and our great grandchildren after them live, the Ministry of Information has come out with a new means to supress FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. Just a short note to tell you that I am back...back at work.. on my desk..back to waking up early in the morning and wasting a day - a full day of my life from 8am to 8pm with no breaks or thank yous - at work.

This in turn means more rants...more grumbling and more nagging.

There are things which just don't change but my resolution is to let go of things. My problem is that I have been serious about everything. At school, I was a high achiever. At university, I was the top student - with a GPA yet to be broken - and that has been done with no effort...like I didn't spend sleepless nights and all.. and at work, I have climbed the ladder firmly one step at a time...and have made it to where not many women would venture.

The end result is this: someone who has put all her life, energy and ambition in a hopeless career in a backward country.

"Stop the self-pity" I can hear people scream.. Yes. I agree. But I am not indulging in self-pity and I never did. The fact is that I enjoy the job, the stress and its thankless nature. Eventhough a lot of people think it's a waste of space and time, I feel that a lot has been achieved over the years and there is scope for more development.

But this optimistic attitude is now a thing of the past. Back to my point, my new resolution is not to take things to heart. Not to take things personally. It is only a job. I am an employee. I will just do my work and leave everyday. I will not get out of my way to make things run smoothly. I will not care. I will not share. I will not feel. I will mechanically do a job I think I can manage mechanically. Like a monkey, I will come to work at 8.30am and leave at 1pm and return at 3pm to leave at 6pm. I will not work a minute more. I can always leave what hasn't been completed today to tomorrow. Who would know? Besides, who cares? Read more»»
Just an update to tell you all that I am on a short holiday - a well-deserved break from my everyday chores.

I am doing great. Thanks to the great people out there who said that I needed a break. I certainly did and I never knew how much good it will do to me. I am having a blast! There are no words to describe how it feels to be spoilt and pampered by the person you love most!

Won't say more... You heard about the the evil eye? More on that later. Read more»»
You grow up measuring things by your own standards.

People laugh at you .. you smile back to them, thinking they were nice to you.

People abuse you.. you smile back again and say Thank You, because mummy taught you some manners.

You blog, you leave the comments section open for everyone, thinking people are mature enough to deal with you in a civilised manner...and instead you get comments left by lunatics (see previous post).

The end result is this: no anonymous commentators will be allowed on this site. But of course, the fuglies would find a way around this small obstacle... Read more»»
Here are a few snippets about how free and democratic Bahrain really is:

1. People are allowed to get out in masses and wave flags and honk and cause traffic jams to celebrate the National Action Charter (huh?) - but not rallies which ask what went wrong afterwards

2. People are allowed to celebrate the birth of a new democracy - but not its death

3. People are allowed to speak - only if they are to praise and pray for prolonging the lives of certain individuals

4. People are allowed to think - only if those thoughts are not sinister and harbour ill feelings to the regime

5. People are free to work - only if there are positions available to suit their ethnic background and religious sect

6. People are free to practise their religious beliefs - only if their religious beliefs are politically bankrupt

7. People are free to spend their Friday afternoons doing whatever they want - unless it is blogging nonsense or taking part in anti-state gatherings and illegal rallies

To be continued .... Read more»»
